I have a computer that was used in my 81 Corvette when I fired the old computer.
Is there any way of telling if this computer is actually the right one for my car?
It is a Delco Electronics computer with Service Number: 1224680
There is also another number printed on it on a little sticker on the side next to the electrical connections and this tag reads 4681107.
If anyone is able to tell me anything about this unit it would be great especially what the unit was meant to be used in.
I have a stock 1981 Corvette 350 with a TH350 auto trans.
I am not sure about the computer numbers on your computer but looking on the www.oreillyauto.com web site they will sell you a remanufactured computer for your car with a lifetime warranty for $81.99 and you wont have to worry about if what you have is right for your car.
I looked at my '81 computer (non-functional but still in the car) but I didn't pull out the battery to get a good look. It has a number of 8818547 on the top side and a "Delco Electronics" sticker on the side facing the battery.
