Default Electrical Problem...

So I got my h4 & h1 halogen conversion lights (in place of sealed beam), install em, they're great. I just noticed 1 small problem... When I put the brights on, after a few seconds they start blinking and flickering (along with the blue brights symbol on my dash).

First i thought i was loose wires (and vibration), so i shut the car off, and turned the brights on... same thing... only the interior light started flashing with it... so it was obvious there was not enough juice to go around.

Do I just need a better alternator? I didn't even have the stereo on at the time...

I'm not an electrical expert but it seems that there was a post a while back that indicated that halogen high beams could fry your dimmer switch. It weht on to say that you need to install a relay to feed the high beams rather than sending all the current through the switch.

BTW, the dimmer switch is mounted on the side of your steering column. There is a paper that I wrote on how to adust the dimmer and ignition switches. Go to http://www.corvettefaq.com and look under Suspension and Steering. Then download Adjust Dimmer and/or Ignition Switch. It won't tell you anything about relays but it will help if you have to replace your switch.
