Default gas pouring out big time!

Been workin on my brakes, amped radio, etc., etc., took out for a test ride opened up the hood to see if the brake leak was fixed (front crossover to left dist. box) and gas was pouring out from the new fuel filter I installed over a month ago.....ran to get my fire extinguisher but didn't need it after watering everything down, it appears gas is coming from the return line or vent line that leads on top of the filter next to the line out to carb....whats goin on? I thought that is just a vent line, why is gas pouring out from that line? Brake line still leaks, radio still hums....rear wheels look like they are bowed outward....almost ready to give up I think I'm gonna go buy a new vette after I drink a case of beer......

What year Vette?

What kind of carb is it, and what the intake/engine we're talking about?

The radio problem is probably the processor IN the stereo itself, and likely needs to be replaced.

For the rear wheels, a certain amount of adjustment can be made to the toe in/out, but you may have worn side yokes/bearings.

Stick with the break lines...they're VERY simple if you take your time and do things right.

1968 327 300 hp, 51,000 miles, everything all original even carb Rochester? Stock intake, numbers matching stuff so everything appears stock to me...... first vette so I'm a rookie....just started car again and tried to loosen gas cap and was very hard to do, then it sounded like a vacuum escape, maybe vented gas cap is bad.....left it cracked open and moved car into garage and no leaks......radio is a stock 68 radio I added an amp and new speakers in rear....humming drivn me nuts...tried everything except run the radio hot wire direct to battery....guess i'll do that next.....on my third beer now, calming down a little...

Okay, about the gas problem. Do you have a digi camera you can use to take some pics and post them for us to see what you're working with? Give us pics of the new filter, and where the gas is leaking from.

The vent cap MAY be the problem, so toy with it and see it if leaks again with the cap off. Also, if you have a fume canister check that too.
