Hi, this is my first time posting but I've been reading the forum for a while. I was hoping to get some advice on my 68' coupe. It's my first Corvette and I've had it since April but my love affair with Corvettes began long ago. I have quite a few questions but for now I was wondering about cleaning my pokey power windows. I've been told that I can grease them up to improve performance. Has anyone had any experiences with this? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, I am stripping the body right now for a repaint and will be posting pics soon.
You'll have to remove your door panels and outer window seals and adjust the glass "felts" so the window flops around in there, but you should be able to see all the tracks, then clean them out and shoot some more grease in there. I used some white lithium grease and it seems to work fine.
I did pretty much the same as Frank75 with my last C3's windows and they worked fine after that. My present C3's windows work really well and I haven't had to fool with them, thank goodness. :D

Re: greetings... power window woes (strat68)
I just finished with my power windows on my 73. I had to replace the window regulators and the right side was missing the back plate for the motor gear...once I got those pieces, I also took out all of the guides and cleaned them up really good with carb/break cleaner then shot them real good with white lithium grease...they work extremly well now. :D
I have a '69 and I have a real problem with the glass being loose, so I took off the driver's side door panel, and all I see is sheet metal with no obvious way of removing it. Or is there no easy way? thanks.
the inner door panels are easy to remove. just unscrew them where you see they screw in(2 or 3 screws), take off the door pulls, and they just snap to the inner door metal with a velcro type fastener. And from what I understand, the tracks are somewhat difficult to remove, as you have to pull them through the hole where you access the window motor. All your screw should be accessed by the holes in the metal that seem to be randomly placed(apparently if the window is at a certain height, it all lines up)....When my car gets back from the paint shop that will be my next project. I will take lots of pictures.
