Default 1975 Stingray question

I found a 1975 Stingray with a big block 483. This engine was put in about 3 years ago, and the car has maybe 10,000 miles on it. The body is in good shape, the interior needs some work. This guy wants $11,500 for the vette. There is a problem with either the battery or alternator because each time I go to test drive it, the seller has to jump it.

Anyone have any ideas if this Vette is worth $11,500?

Rust can be a very big issue, look at the frame all over and especially the kickups in front of the rear wheels. Also rust on the birdcage is an issue, pull kick panels and look for rust flakes on the body mount bolts in there, only takes a minute.
It would have to be very clean for that price

I paid 11.9 for mine from a dealer. It's # matching L82,4spd with ac. It's by no means a NCRS car but was clean. I thought I paid to mutch at the time, but now I would hope to get 15k for it, after putting another 10k into it. Baiscally everthing from the diff to the tranny is rebuilt or new. If the only thing done to the car is the motor.. I'd say that's a little steep.

Also, don't take ANYTHING on word alone. Jack it up front and rear and check bearings and yolks. Test the shocks. Check under the hood for any rust, and molested wire harnesses. Do all the gauges and lights work? Are there any missing interior pieces? Headlights pop up at the same time and fall evenly? How's the paint? Is it original paint and color? Go over the car from front to back. Just the way you describe it, I would guess $8500 - $9000 would be best. If the interior was clean and lined out, then yes, the asking price would be justified more.
