Default Speaker wires

I need to trace the speaker wired in the dash and to the rear. How do I get up to the ones in the dash. I assume the glove box comes out on the passenger side. How do I remove the gage bezel to get up into the middle of the dash? How do I remove the tach and speedo to get to the drivers side? I also would like to know how the console comes out to work under it?
I have a 1978 T-top I just bought and am extreemly new to working on vettes. Any help will be appreciated.
I also am new to this forum. Where can I find definitions for the abbreviations I see? Also the rules of conduct and such. Thanks

Default Welcome

Hi and welcome to "THE BEST" place to learn about our passion. Most guys will tell you to get a hold of an assembly manual for your particular year car and thats good advice. As for your other questions,,, I just usually take stuff apart untill I get to where I need to be without breaking parts and pieces. For your console work you need to start by taking off the carpeted side trim pieces, there are 3 (I think) screws on each side , from there you just need to look at the thing to find out the next step,,,,,,,,,,,an adventure, good luck,,,Peace,,,Moosie

Good advice by moosie. For sure buy the AIM (Assembly instruction manual) as it is VERY useful in taking stuff apart. It shows exactly where the wires run for the rear speaker. Yes, the glove box come out which may help.
I have attached a copy of the AIM that shows the routing to the rear.

that gauge cluster has a computer circuit board on the back and it's VERY VERY PICKY and STUBBORN and FRAGILE! Be careful, these cars are old, and the plastic is not as flexible as it used to be. Go slow and be very patient.
