Moog worth the extra money?
Replaced the upper ball joint on the drivers side last weekend with one from VBP. It cost around $20 but it did not look like the stock one. Just out of curiosity I went to a local shop and looked at the Moog brand upper ball joint, it did not look like the stock one either and it cost $55.00. WOW is it worth that much extra money, if so I will use moog lower ball joints when I replace those.-Thanks TK

I had a bad experience with Moog so I never went back. I needed a new idler arm for my 1965 T'Bird. When I went to buy a OEM replacement, I found out that the previous owner had replaced the idler arm with a Moog. Apparently, to get around paying Ford royalties (or maybe some other reason), Moog redesigned the 65 T'Bird idler arm to their own liking. Using the Moog required throwing away some critical Ford OEM mounting parts which were no longer available. So I was forced to use the Moog idler arm.... which Moog had discontinued. I sold the car. So much for me & Moog. I suppose they may have good stuff, but I won't buy it for fear of getting left out in the cold again. TRW re-boxes a lot of their stuff... but I always had good luck with them for suspension parts.
