rear moving
i recently replaced the right side half shafts u joints on my 75 vette i planned to do both but the right too 5 freaking hours. any way now when i drive and punch the gas the whole rear end moves to the right. could the u joints go in wrong? and cause this. would only doing one side cause it. i will say this when we jacked it up to put it on jackstands something popped. we just thought the floor jack was in the wrong place. (right under the door). im new to the rear of this car so any help would be appreciated. also it all looks original underneath.

I experienced this once when the shop who did my alignment forgot to put the pins back in the trailing arm shims. The shims fell out and the car moved to the side really oddly. Luckily I had it towed before anything bad happened. Anyway, make sure your shims on either side of the trailing arms are in place. They should be on each side of the arm where it sits in the pocket in the body.
Also, it sounds like you had several parts loose or removed to do the job. I'd make a bet that your rear alignment is way off also. Take it to a alignment shop and get it figured out, because replacing a bent trailing arm is not fun.
