L88 Road Test

While searching for an article on 6 Link rear suspensions, I came along an old article on a very correct '69 L88. What I particularly enjoyed about the article was how civilized the author felt the car to be, at least after he went deaf from the open pipes that is. It served to motivate me to tame my beast for such civilized behaviour. Once mine is done, we will see.

I have another acticle of this same car drag racing an original 427 Cobra. I will get around to posting it later if interested.

I remember that L88 racing the Cobra, the L88 was running 11.80s @ over 120mph against the Cobra. Unfortunetly the clucht blew the night before the actual race and a last minute swap produced only low 12s on the offical race day. I also know of a couple of other factory L88s in the 60s that with just slicks, headers ran in the low 11s!!! That is why the L88s have always been my dream car.
