Helllo c3rs question about smog
Someone said that in California my 76 vette would be exempt if it was first sold in 1975. Well i checked my registration and sure enough it was sold in 1975. So i asked a little old ladie at the DMV and she gave me the bad news. She said 75 and below exempt , 76 up smog 
. Just want to confirm if this is a misnomer or not.

You will need smog unless you register it in an area where there is no requirement. Who do you know with a cabin in the mountains?
Check the DMV website for zip codes around you where there's no requirement for smog.

A: Many 1976 model vehicles were built in 1975; however, the Smog Check exemption is based on model year, not date of manufacture, so these vehicles are not exempt.
