C3 Rear Speaker Box

That looks great. I've been toying with doing something like this for my '72 convertible. I'm somewhat limited on space with the top down.
I was thinking of making a box for each corner so I can retain my compartment light and still have a little storage room.

I found these speaker boxes for sale on ebay months ago. They wanted $100 for them. I decided to make my own. They press fit in. The set I made doesn't look as good but they are close. What I like about them is they aim the sound right between the seats. Sound quality is much better. They also still alow for t-top storage. I put a nice set of 6x9's in them. There is a lot of room behind them.

Cool looking boxes. When they're pressed in do you get a good sealed air space? Speakers have a rough time with bass if there isn't sealed space behind.

Not as good as a sealed box. It is a lot better than the stock set up. I have not put carpet on the ones I made. When I do I plan on sealing them up a little better.

I was almost going to do the super sound thing in the 68 and then figured the factory one stay because the radio is a PITA to remove. Thanks you and all others members on the kind words on the box. The design was in my head then paper then a work bench. I wanted to have it look like it was a factory piece and not like "Bubba" built it. As far as using any of my ideas, that's why I post them , AL.

Be careful, there's one lane closed on I-70 inbetween St. Louis and Columbia.
I'll be up for the VA meet but probably not this year. I'd want to bring the Vette and I won't have it painted by then.
