Steering Wheel Feedback
Just wondering if anyone has an idea where to start looking.
When I make a right hand turn under acceleration, the wheel has a shake in it. It almost feels like a 4x4 with the front hubs locked on dry pavement.
Left turns are not a problem, and the car tracks straight down the highway.
If it is a low speed corner or I just let the car roll thru it, the wobble is not as severe, but under acceleration you can really feel the front end trying to hop.
It's a '71 B/B if that matters when you give your opinion.

A think that a worn out A-arm bushing can also do this.
Problem is, that due to the enormeous front spring pressure, it is nearly impossible to see any wear in this bushings. You can jack up the car and the spring will always push hard on this bushing, so rocking it by hand does not show up any play.
Putting the car on a rattle plate to check drive train play will show this.

Rattle plate..... Sorry, surely not the correct name.
It is a plate where the wheels will stand on and shakes the car heavily in order to find any loose or worn bearings, balljoints or whatever.
Usually, only one wheel at a time is put onto this plate and you feel like being on a roller coaster when you sit in.
This test is part of our bi-yearly governmental car check up .
