Big Pickle, not sure how to answer your question directly, but as you can see, it must be a reverse flow design...
Al, thanks!
Qwank, I do remember reading on the forum that member were able to use this set-up (without the smog delete) using a smaller belt, and if I remember correctly the length is listed in another thread...it looks like it needs to be short enough to prevent the idler pulley from obstructing the A/C to Water Pump Pulley path...another option may be to 'flip' the delete bracket and use a 'slightly shorter' belt? This would provide a lot more clearance for suspension.
thanks Al for the get back, if everyone is putting the edelbrock pump on for looks i think its a waste of money. If they are using the pump to keep the clocking for the lower radiator hose then i understand!
Here's a picture of the setup I did years ago. I picked up the brackets and accessories off of ebay for $100, from an 89' Firebird 305 engine. I cleaned it up, used the brackets, bolts, power steering pump, and alternator. I also bought an ac compressor for an 87' vette and did the R134a conversion, a March underdrive pulley kit, and a long style Edelbrock Victor Jr. reverse flow water pump, which you need electric fans for the long pump, no room for a mechanical fan. It clears my stock 80' hood.
This a an '88 Camaro system with the smog delete. I bought each separately from ebay...$130 for the system all cleaned up with painted pulleys...$30 or so for the smog delete bracket and pulley. An Edelbrock pump and replacement accessories from NAPA. It all fits fine under a '68 small block hood. Can't comment on suspension or cross member interference, but I learned about this on the forum so I assume it works...
