Windshield Trim Installation
Working on a 71 convertible. A fresh windshield frame was installed out of a 78 t-top car. Im trying to install new corner moldings, a replacement center molding, and the upper windshield reveal molding.... I have ground and dremeled the corners to fit, and the center piece snaps into place. The problem Im running into is two fold. First, the body shop neglected to install the clips that hold the molding at the top of the windshield before installing the glass itself. Is there a way around this? (Im not afraid of JB Weld...) The second issue is that the upper windshield reveal molding doesn't seem to following the contour of the three moldings on top. Is this piece easy to bend into shape or should I be looking for a replacement? Its off 2 inches at least on each side. Any advice is appreciated. Various pictures available at:
