Just got a new fuel sensor gauge gasket. Basically it's an o-ring with a little tab on it. Does it matter where the tab goes? I dont see the purpose of it? Also are you supposed to glue the o-ring in or just use it dry, tap the retaining cam until o-ring is compressed.
Another question. How do you test that the float is working properly. Are these reliable or should i replace it for $80 since the tank is out?
If there was a purpose for the tab, I couldn't figure it out. The original ring didn't have one. You can put it in dry.
I think the resistance in the sending unit is supposed to go from 0 to 90ohm. You should be able to measure it with an VOMeter. There isn't much to these units to go wrong and they're easy to replace. I decided to reuse my original one...
