Rear spring bolt size?
What is the size of the rear spring bolts (length/thread size)? I just finished installing new bushings along with a new composite rear spring, and it's riding too high. I'd just like to order two more bolts from McMaster, since I have some other stuff to order from them today...
Thanks!

In my 70 the rear spring bolts were 1/2" x 6-1/2. I replaced with
1/2 x 8 and the rear dropped about 2".

All I know is the bolts I took out were 1/2". It is possible a previous owner changed them, but, doubt it.

What spring did you get? How far did you run the nut up on the bolt?

Anybody know where I could get some 9 or 9.5" long 9/16 bolts?

Try a Truck Repair/Supply shop. I find most of the larger size and grade 8 nuts and bolts there.

Tradesman Fastener at 25136 Five Mile just west of Telegraph. They have just about any kind of fastener made including Grade 8's.

Thanks Fred, they didn't have anything that long but they referred me to Wayne Nut & Bolt in Detroit, who had some 10" bolts. I can cut bolts...
