Just a quick one. Does anyone know off hand the coolant capacity of a 1973 L82 (non/AC car, if that matters)?
Also, any advice on what kind of anti-freeze and ratio (water) is best for an older engine? I live in MI and will be storing the car for the winter...it could see freezing temps. Thanks!
In this neck of the woods I have seen windchill of -40F (-40C) in January/February and antifreeze turn to slush. For my daily driver and winter car I use a 60/40 antifreeze/water mix. This gives protection to -67F (-55C). If you go with a 50/50 mix that will protect to -36F (-38C).
But my Corvette is kept in heated, commercial storage from October to April and I use the 50/50 for summer driving.
