Damn these are great. For al lthose who have posted in the past wanting to know about the value priced sidepipes I'll post more pics and a soundclip later this weekend. I have the JCWhitney/Patriot sidepipes. I had to customize the mounting brackets a little bit. I had to bend them to an angle that matched the frame rail. I welded mine on instead of using those screws they provide. You're a little limited on how high you can put them but it seems to work. I'll let you be the judge on that though. I'm ordering the Cobrastuff.com chrome shields for them. Now the killer is what a difference in sound. My Vette sounds like a real muscle car now. Just a stock L48 but it has a deep rumble, a SB rumble but still a rumble none the less! As you rev the engine it really comes to life. Doesn't sound anemic anymore. Check it out...
sidepipes are a must for C3's. I love mine. Especially when you,re next to a wall divide on the highway. Who needs a radio! And when the guy next to you want to share his rap with you, you can give a little something back. Nice work!
Thanks for the post. I was just looking at them on JCWhitney's site a couple days ago and wondering if they were worth messin with. Cant wait to hear'em! Do they bolt directly to your headers, and if so, what kind did you go with?
have to agree and whats better is a drive with the T-tops off on a warm night and side pipes rumbling.
for you guys that are looking for sidepipes get a price from Jegs before you buy from JC Whitney i found Jegs to be cheaper overall with shipping on the patriot pipes when i was shopping for mine.
Mongoose,
I welded my brackets on too but I turned the brackets up instead of down, raising them quite a bit. Much better ground clearance! You will like the Cobra shields too!

I tried that but couldn't get the bolt to fit between the bracket and the body. My frame is angled up along the edges which made it a PITA. Do you have a picture of yours?
