New to the forum. Today is the day. I'm pulling the rear end for a somewhat complete overhaul, Trailing arms, diff etc. Thought that I would post this in case there were any tips. Need the rear stable for the 383 stroker that is being built. Wish me luck.
I wish you luck...that was my winter project last year. Make sure you have a torch, lots of PB Blaster and something that cuts metal. The trailing arm bolts were the most difficult I hope that yours slide right out!!!
Por15 kit, has Metal Ready, POR15 and topcoat. Will stop whatever rust you got going on. Today sice I have ann the running gear out oof mine I got out there and uded the pressure washer to clean all the stuff of the bottom, looks great. Next step is paint the frame with POR15, wheel wells with undercoat and floor pans with rattle cans.
I took the Diff and trailing arms over to tracdogg today. If anyone is interested in the rebuild, I may be able to get some pics posted during the process.
