Default Tail light conversion wiring

Hi people, I want to re-wire the tail lights on my 82 so that the indicators are in the original back up lenses. I've looked everywhere in here (I think) but cannot find any posts that show the mods to the wiring harness. I want the outer lights to be tail/brake and the inner lights as indicators

Does anyone know of a post, or know how to re-wire the rear lights please?

Also, does anyone know what the diameter of C4 tail lights is?

Thanks in advance...

You can not have just indicators if you hook them to the outer lights, the brake and indicator is the same. The only way to do that is to pull a new wire all the way from thewire for the front indicators and use that. The rears otherwise are both brake & indicator (normal indicator blinker turns brake light on, when holding the brake it turns the brake light off..it's 1/2 a phase shift) You can buy a repair pigtail to use for the wiring mods.

You mean you want to convert to like a UK spec? Indicators in the revers lens so you lose the reverse lights?

If so, check out here for the instructions.

http://www.corvetteclub.org.uk/files..._mod_guide.pdf

Quite an easy job...cost me £6.79 and took about 2 hrs or so to do.

EDIT: looks like the link is down at the mo, will see if I can get a copy for you...

ok found it, pm me your email and I will send it.

Yes, exactly. Thanks for the link, I've downloaded it and will have a read at work.

I'll paint the reversing lenses amber but ultimately, if I can find a donor lense, I want to make the whole inner lense amber - like the "Euro" conversion sets you see available for a C4 from Ecklers etc...

Do you still need my e-mail address Jotto, or is the link the same file you were going to send me?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help

Thanks Jotto, I had a read through and it looks simple enough. I just have to track down some amber lenses now.

Thanks again mate...
