Default Edelbrock Help...

Got my new intake and carb installed today. It's an edelbrock performer eps 2701 intake and an edelbrock 1400 carb. Here is the issue. I can't figure out where to hook the throtle return springs up to the carb. Could someone with an edelbrock post a pic of this for me or something? I feel like a complete idiot having to ask...

Thanks,
Glen.....

I just got my car and it's got a weiand intake/edelbrock carb. The return spring is just hooked (awkwardly) to one of the aftermarket wire loom posts.

I'm curious where everyone else is mounting theirs too. Are you guys fabricating something simple from a metal strip or something?

I saved the throttle cable bracket from the original manifold. It bolts to the Edelbrock manifold (in the same place). That bracket will also give you a place to hook a pair of return springs. Sorry I don't have pics available...

Sorry guys. What I mean is that I can't figure how to hook it to the carb itself. I have a bracket for the intake but can't find holes that will let the spring hook to the carb.

I just used a 1/16 in drill bit and drilled the linkage to get a place to hook my return spring. Sorry I am not home now so I can't access my pics.

This is where I connected the return springs on my Edelbrock Performer 14XX carb.

Edelbrock AVS carb, GM Bowtie intake, and the stock Quadrajet throttle cable bracket lengthened to match the squarebore carb mount spacing, Summit dual return springs.

Thanks for the pics guys. MartyW, could you get me a pic of where you anchored your springs? That would work for me I just need to find out how you mounted them to the intake going that direction.

Well that would be the funny part. I do not have it attached to a bracket mounted to the intake. If you really want to see the pic, I will snap a shot and post it so you can get a good laugh. It is conncted to a clamp around the top radiator hose as it comes out of the intake at the thermostat housing. It works well and I have two springs attached. I will eventually make a small metal bracket and connect it to the intake, but for now it is functional.

ahoover,
Where did you find the steel fuel line from fuel pump to the Russell filter? And what AN fitting did you use at the filter end?

paul67....I bent a new 3/8" hard line from the fuel pump and I used an Aeroquip adapter fitting. I can post the part number later today.

I feel that hard lines are maintenance free compared to rubber and braided lines which can deteriorate on the inside with no visible signs outside.
