thanks for all the comps!....here's some answers to all the questions....I'm going backwards answering them.

....intake will be a spreadbore performer RPM. a performer is on there right now

as for the valve covers/breather......I don't know guys....the guy I bought it from said they were the original covers, but I've never seen any others like it.....have ya'll....must be rare?.....but making a hole on one side wouldn't be hard at all....I'll do some asking around and researching on this definatley though!...

.....i will be rebuilding the street avenger, it's 670cfm double pumper....should do fine till i get some extra cash and upgrade...this thing's wiping me out man.....i'll be getting around a 2800stall.....

682XLR8: why did you have to use the undersize bearing?...i miced some of mine tonight and everything looked straight and good so far...

dyno hmmm, nothing decent around here......i'll prob get ya'll some 1/4 mile times though!......or atleast around about, my brothers firehawk runs good consistant low 13s now.....maybe 12's if he's lucky....so we'll see, I'm getting pumped about building it!

and thanks a bunch for the advice and help...it'll definatley be useful.....i'll keep ya'll updated with some pics every-so-often.....i can't wait to hear it.......thanks again!

The SA carbs are all VS. You'll be leaving HP on the table...

The Holley Street Avenger 670 is not a double pump carb
Dual feed

Dont ignore the breather issue or you will have problems

bluegtp-The rods and mains apparently were ground towards the smaller side of the tolerance scale. After measuring the bearings installed, I kept coming up with a consistant .003 clearance, which was a little too much. I purchased .001 undersized bearings from Summit(clevite 77) and that brought everything back to within tolerance

Also saw in one of your posts you are using Plastigage. Can you get ahold of a set of telescoping gages and mics that read in .0001?

yeah, i have gotten ahold of a mic that reads in .000s.....came up with a .0025 clearance(think that's right...or a 2 1/2 difference) ...except for the number 3 main....it read a .003 i believe. i had a buddy helping me out just to help be accurate.... should i worry about that one?

Bob Onit/Brettmc:
-sorry my fault, i was told it was a double pumper and just looked it up and it's not...thanks for the correction! all i've known is fuel injection.....this carb stuff is new to me.....this avenger would be ok for now right?.....this pricelist is killing me.......but i wanna do it right, so if I have to wait i can!.

don't worry I will definatley address the valve cover issue....just waiting until i get up to that part...... i'll probably just punch one of the holes out like ya'll said...they look too good just to go buy new ones!

-block is going to the marchine shop tomorrow to get bored 30over and get cleaned up.....slowly but surely guys!.....
