Default C3 headlight switch

Anyone know how to remove the headlight switch shaft.

All the books say "remove the shaft to get the switch out; but they don't say how

Theres a little spring loaded button that needs to be pushed in on the switch... then the shaft will pop right out

Getting to it is a cramp
GM has used this method for many many years.

I just went through the same thing... The button is near impossible to see once a little dirt gets on it but it is there. Should be in a corner of the switch right next to where the vacuum lines attach for the headlights...

When I pulled mine out, I lay on the floor wih my head under the dash, right arm up behind the dash and hand on the switch.

The little button should be under your right thumb and you push that in while pulling the ****. It'll take some jiggling as they never seem to come straight out.

Remember too, your headlights will be on and you'll have the shaft in your hand. Mine were, anyway...
