Default 68 wiper mtr. need help

I bought a rebuilt 68 wiper mtr. from Auto Zone. My original was missing. So I don't know which wires go where. How to the 3 wires from the new mtr. hook up to the 3 prong plug on the car. The new mtr. has a red, black, and white wire coming from it. I've tried all the jumpering around tricks and can not it run. These things were way over enginered. I hope there is some help somewhere.

Thanks.

Ran out and looked at my 68 just now....

There is a blue wire going directly to the motor housing, the other two wires are red and tan, and go to the mechanism above the motor. Now look at the connector in the harness, there should be a larger red wire, two black wires joined into one contact beside it, and a green or gray wire(can't tell exactly) with the connector slot running perpendicular to the other two. The blue wire(coming from the round motor housing) goes to the two black wires, the red wire goes to the larger red wire, and the tan to the green(or gray) wire.
With your rebuilt unit, the wires as you stated are not correctly color coded, but the one from the motor housing should be easy to spot. Not sure of the other two.
Also be sure the housing has a ground wire going to it.
Hope I've helped rather than make things more confusing

If the motor was missing, hopefully there are not other pieces to the system missing as well.
You're right, the wiper system IS over-enginnered

The 68-72 has the door and there are safety switches that will stop the motor from running unless the door is open and the switch enabled.

Tom-Also check the **** under the dash, make sure it's grounded. This was one headache I experienced when redoing my system.

If you don't figure this out, I just emailed the 68 wire diagrams for the wiper system to another customer three days ago. IF memory serves me, I thinhk 682XLR8 pretty much nailed it down though.

Emial me at willcox@willcoxcorvette.com if you don't figure it out. I can send you a copy.

Don't forget that ground wire. It should connect to a male blade that is screwed to the wiper housing. If you had no motor to begin I imagine your ground is missing too.

Watch for this as the new motors don't show where it grounds on the face plate. Whatever happend to companies including directions with the parts?!!!
