Who needs an EGR valve.
My 79 is stripped of all smog control crap except the EGR valve, Can I just taken it off and put a plate over the space where it bolts on?? Am I missing something on what it is doing with everything else removed???

I took mine off my 76.It was the only peice of smog equipment on it when I bought the car.I made a block off plate from scrap metal and it works fine.I plan on replacing the intake with a non egr one anyway but zit hade to come off so My new valve covers would fit.

I do. I'm currently (very slowly) trying to gather up the emissions equipment for my '80. My car came without anything.
