I have a 1969 L71. The previous owner had a bad habbit of disconnecting various features...(I found the Cluch Petal Starter Switch with a jumper wire, rear astro vent vacum acutator disconnected, etc). I've recently learned that this car came with a key warming buzzer. The buzzer never worked since I owned the car, so I am wondering if it simply discconnected, but I have no idea of the location. Someone said to check the horn harness, but I have no clue where that is either. Can someone tell me exactly where to look to see if the buzzer is disconnected and other places and things I could check to see if it works?
The buzzer itself is within the horn relay, under the hood.
Check for a cut or disconnected wire coming out of the base of the steering column. I don't have a diagram here. Look in the Assembly Manual. Mine was disconnected too when I bought my 69.
Why? The plastic switch was broken within the column, and the thing buzzed constantly till I fixed it. Chuck
