hey i have a 81 with a crate 350 in it. Im not sure of the model, the previous owner had it installed and said it was putting out 375hp. I am currently having a problem when i step on it, it wants to die out. I took it to my mann's corvette and had it tuned cause i first figured it was running rich which it was and now its go a lot more power but it still wants to die out sometimes when stepping on it. It seems to do this mostly when colder.(like 5mins or so into driving) I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Maybe intake and carb dont match properly? im not sure, any ideas would be muchly apreciated. I took it out today and got it to launch good and get a 0-60 time in 5.61 secs I figured that was pretty good for a 81. Thanks again for the ideas and help!

yeah. i wait a few mins after stoping and going for it to warm up. Even after it warms up sometimes it still does it. It has a 800cfm holly carb. Thanks for helping!
..well truthfully I don’t really know if this is the same problem. But in my olds 98 I got with a 455 V8.. I used to stomp on it sometimes when it was about 5 or so minutes in to just give it the taste of gas every once in a while.. Since I putter it around and don't really drive it a lot.. And when I did it would sputter and sometimes even backfire get really close to dieing since you could barely even hear it running with packs on it. THEN it would finally take off MAYBE. But I just recently found out my distributor time was off but a couple of degrees.. And that actually for some reason it wasn't screwed down tightly.. Thus the distributor could move Simi freely.. Just my little tad bit.. Now when I stomp on it. Its high ho silver away.
