I have a '72 coupe. The seat belt warning is, well, more annoying than the people I usually end up next to when I fly.
What's the best way to disable it? When I put it in drive, it comes on, and if I pull the belt out it'll shut off. I just don't want the thing buzzing at me when I unbuckle to move park in the garage or move the car around.
Since it goes away when I fuss with the retractable part, I'm assuming the switch/sensor for it is in there somehow. Can I just unplug it, or does it need to be jumped? I don't want to tear the dash apart unless it's absolutely necessary.
The problem is that I don't want to listen to the thing squawk at me when I'm moving the car or other short drives where I'm not worried about wrecking w/o a seat belt on at 5mph or less.
Besides, I'm a big boy, I don't need a light and buzzer to tell me if I buckled up.
