'73 LS4 Ignition Wire Replacment..Help!
Everything went well and took my time to make sure that I did the correct routing and made sure the wires didn't touch any metal that would short circuit the wires and cause a miss.
Problem: I got the old spark plug wire off the No. 2 plug (passenger side front cylinder right under the air conditioning compressor), but I can't get my wrist to turn the direction to get the new spark plug wire on? I am going at it from the top.
Should I be doing thing from underneath the car, or remove the A/C belt and move the compressor to the fender? Any special tools needed?
How has anyone else done this job?
Your help is greatly appreciated! I am mechanically inclined, but this is a very tight place!
Thanks in advance for suggestions.
Peter
I did not move the A/C compressor as belt tightening can be a pain.
I pulled the RF tire and pulled up the A-arm rubber flap and there it was! The No. 2 spark plug and wire. Pushed it on and snap... it was done.
It took longer to put the rocker cover bolt with the ground wire from the ignition wire and metal spreader spacer on.
Thanks,
Peter
Thanks also to Mayberg for your posting too.
