Default Fuel pump manual or electric?

Hi,
I have just purchased this 1972 Sb LT1 motor to go in my 1977,
with the following spec:

Big journal Crank
Ported Heads with standard valves
268 comp cam with hydralic lifters
roller valve gear
Torker II inlet manifold
Holly 750cfm carb vacuum secondary
4 branch s/s headers
Mallory duel point disrtibuter

with 9.35:1 compression ratio.

Will a mechanical(manual lol) fuel pump supply enough gas to run this motor?

Or should I get an electric one?
If I need to buy an electric one can you let me know which one to buy.
Many thanks Jerry

Manual will supply all the fuel you need for this motor. I ran the stock LT1 pump on my 420 HP 350 for years and it supplied my motor fine.

Sorry, I was editing my above post which diddnt show both pumps.

I have the deep style on my 1973 L-48
I wonder what the difference is other than it seems one holds more fuel

Thanks!

Manual pump, eh?
Is that when you're steering with your left hand and using your right to pump the lever?

couldn't help it...

A mechanical pump increases flow w/ rpm which is exactly what's needed.
Think about a better intake- high rise intakes fit under the med. rise 77 hood.

Your '73 is a three port pump, the other one is a two port. The third port is the 'bypass' or 'return line' which helps mimimise vapour lock by constantly circulating fuel.

Bubba and his friends frequently downgrade their cars by installing a two port pump 'cause they look nice and shiny in the Summit catalog.

Mechanical > electric as far fuel pumps IN MY OPINION

If you manage to be a dork and let the tank run dry, your mechanical fuel pump isn't gonna overheat and die on you. Electric though...

If you want a SWEET fuel pump that you know WILL provide enough fuel. www.racepumps.com Piston pump baby!

Thanks guys.
My current fuel pump off my 77 is the 3 port pump, with many rust holes in the bottom.
I guess the 3 port pump will still work fine in a LT1 motor

Do you know where I can buy a replacement?
