Default steering issues w/1979

hello everyone,

I currently own a 79 vette and have noticed that the handling/steering floats alot on the road. The steering is not tight at all, infact its really sloppy. Is this a common thing with c3 vettes? If not, what should I do to correct this issue/or what could be the cause of this. Thanks again...marty

The front end is standard GM issue for the era. Take it to a front end shop and have it redone ... or if you are confident you can rebuld it yourself there's plenty of threads on this here on this forum.

i had exact same issue on my '79, floating and the whole 9 yds. I changed upper and lower control arm bushings to polyurethane and lower ball joints replaced. It drives like new. When i took the driver lower control arm off i found the trailing end cap bolt was completely gone. That was part of my problem but i think the new poly bushings restored my drive feel
