Here are a few pics of the new Homelink unit I procured for use in my Vette. I found this one on a visor from a 2001 Ford Explorer. Homelink is a cool system that has a lot of versitility. This version even has a memo record function. I know it's basically useless, but fun and a good conversation idea. It's easy to program, and I tested it on my house's door with a 9V battery. It's a one wire hook up, with 12V and ground. I need to test and see what it draws when not in use if anything, so I don't have to worry about wiring it to a 12V system.
SWEET!!! We install a few of the homelink mirrors at work and I have considered putting one in my '76.Pretty much the same deal, just a hot and ground hook up.The mirrors have the compass in them in case I get lost.

I'm not using visors in my Vette, so I"m gonna install this unit in the t-top trim, right over where the mirror goes. I have a mirror with lights, but no gadgets that need a puter. The Homelink will prove usefull for a lot of reasons.
I got the Explorer visors in an Ebay auction. Very cheap.
