couldnt get it to go in reverse

Default couldnt get it to go in reverse

i was leavin my cousins house and i like had no reverse. It was in reverse and i gave it some gas but went nowhere. BTW its a 4 speed borg warner. I just couldnt figure it out.

Reverse lever came off transmission. Don't ask me how I know.

I hope it is just this. Were you noticing anything unusual with reverse the last few times you drove it? Same happened to me and the reverse clutch pack went out and I had to have the transmission rebuilt. Mine did have some slight symptoms before it went out, mainly that reverse did not seem to engage as hard when I would initially shift it into reverse.

no it was just fine when i was backing it out off the garage this morning. I hope i wont need my tranny rebuilt!

I think MartyW has an automatic (ref "clutch pack"). What happened to mine is the "hair pin" that holds the rod to the lever on the side of the trans broke. Worked fine one minute, then NO GO backwards. Simple fix. Just use a cotter pin if you can't find the special clip.

yea my dad was thinkn the same thing. Hopefully you and him are right.
