Checked out the earlier thread on the 200r4 trans and many other sites with no help.
Anyone know what this is from and the year of manufacture?
Any suggestions for where I can look?
230891 CTF 0688 - metal tag on rear of trans
619 CTF R00022655 - paper tag at the front.
The CTF probably indicates a chevy but thats as far as I got.

The information seemed to be condtradictory with regard to total # of digits and meaning of each digit placeholder.
Still have not nailed down the year and model. Other info was useful perspective.
Trans mates up with my 327 engine.
Attached metal tag:
large letters CT in up left corner F - up, R corner
230-89 1CTF0688
paper tag - can't read the three large letter
made in Three Rivers
619CTF R00022655
Cast into top of forward trans case - large 40, small 2
further back is a large letter G
