Default Intake and Carb Advice

All,

I have a 72 with basically stock 350 270hp motor. The cam was recently changed, but I'm not sure of the specs. There is a little lobe to the cam that smooths out when the engine gets warm. I'm planning on changing the intake and carb and need some advice. I've seen all the threads and it's greek to me. I was told that the Edelbrock Air Gap manifold is the way to go with a Demon carb. Will this set up fit under my stock hood, even with buying a drop air cleaner. Any help would be appreciated. If you could give me part numbers of your setups that work that would be great.

I have an Air Gap and Spped Demon. Even though I have the L88 hood (long style) I think I may have clearance issues. It looks to me like you have a stock small block hood which is even lower than mine. But there was another post here a while back where some had ran the same with success.

Thats the same setup I have at the moment. Just switched to the Demon carb though, but it is running awesome. I definately had to have the twin turbo hood for clearance issues.

Default Need Intake and Carb Advice

It looks like you guys have either LT-1, BB hoods or 1973 or later C3's. It appears from the threads that the later C3's have more clearance. I was wondering if anyone with a 1968 - 1972 C3 with the stock small block hood is running an Air Gap manifold with a Demon carb. If so, what air cleaner? Part numbers of the manifold and carb would be helpful. I definitely don't want to waste my time buying anything that won't work.

Any input from a 71 or 72 C3 owner? Really need help here since I'm planning on buying the new manifold and carb this sunday at the Pomona Swap Meet.

The air gap will not fit under a stock 72 hood

You can probably get away with the Performer. Was good for 12.6's in my car.
