Default Psycho temp gauge

I noticed today while i was driving that my temp gauge was going everywhere all at once and when i coasted or maintained a constant speed it would settle down. The gauge appears to be functional when its not bouncing all over the place. Any Ideas?

Thanks

You have a loose connection to your temp sensor or a short in the wire leading to the sensor. Check the terminal where it attaches to the sensor on the left head (driver's side.) The wire leading to it is sort of a brown or dark tan color.
My gauge did exactly the same thing, the needle looked like it was spinning at about 5000 rpm. Then when I'd slow down it would read normally. It was a loose connection.

I agree with the prior post. The same thing happened to one of my non-vette cars. Loose connection to the temperature sender.
