Do you mean wires with the braided wire around the plug wire (original plug wires) and regular plug wires?
The original wires had the braided wire to help reduce radio interference. You see SB cars with the wires encased in shielding. I have an aftermarket radio and don't get any static from the engine. I am running regular plug wires I bought at AutoZone. I think they are "shielded" in that they are designed to cut down on interference.
i went from std packard to a set of braided from lectric's and in radio interferance i notice no diff. (stock radio)
but the braided was correct for my 72 ls5
