You should have a set of wires running from the enclosure in the hood to a switch on the backside of the gas pedal inside the car. When you push the pedal to a certain point the switch will open the door. This switch also controls the downshift on your transmission.

Also look for a switch with brown wires down by the gas pedal, this opens the door at full throttle. If you can live with the noise, unbolt the cover and remove the door for full time cowl induction.

Racer-X,
With the engine off, ignition on, depress the accelerator pedal, and you should hear a click and maybe even see the door opening.
Mine was not working (wiring problem), and I fixed it last year. I think it's a pretty cool system when functional--extra air when needed! :D
