Besides the screws to dash there are 2 underneath console.
Contact cleaner to clean out & clock oil may get it going.

Here's the AIM for the gage cluster. PM me with your email address and I'll send it if you can't read this copy.

It's definately not one of my favorite places to be
Just take your time, the cast pot metal (or whatever it is) will break very easily if you start wrestling with it

Good illustration. I love AIMs.

Remember: getting the cluster loose is only half the task. You will also have to go slowly disconnecting the instrument panel wiring. I've always found it easier to remove the passenger side dash pad for access.

You did disconnect the battery, didn't you?

Default I figure I can piggyback off of this topic

My gauge lights went out the other day which is real annoying at night because now i have to use a flashlight on the highway. To drop the steering column, I know there are four bolts and the second two are right before the firewall. Anyone know where I should start looking? I assume it is a short somewhere since they all went out at once.

Well, I broke my own rule as far as not answering a post if the person is too lazy to fill in their profile...but Im guessing you own a '69

All the gauge lights went out?
Do you have interior lights, fan, radio cigarette lighter ect;?

I suggest you start another thread with ALL the info and testing you have done
