200 4r rebuild...progress....
took about 18 hours total, but I got the rotating parts in place, and I THINK it's all ok....now on to the servos, accumulator valves, brain and Trans Go shift kit mods....
got done with the brain plate mods....thankfully it was stock appearance....so all the drilling of holes to enlarge them was not messed up....
seems the last rebuild was more or less stock as a stove, hate the idea some other shift kit would maybe mess up what I"m installing...
damn kit came through with an extra clutch...and so I tore it all apart and went though the whole thing again, looking carefully at stacks
of clutches and steels....
the pace I got the parts from suggested the blued up steels from overheating were fine as long as they were slick on surface and not ground up...they were....the associated clutches were absolutely, positively totally competly toasted beyond anything .....ash best describes them....but no wonder, the front pump was a destroyed 7 vane unit....in went a new 10 vane unit...and hopefully it can generate enough pressures to keep everyone else happy....
gotta say this, every damn one of these auto trannies I have torn into is a total disaster approaching a nitemare of hellish proportions....
OLDE TYME story is the original inventor of auto trannies committed suicide....no clue....but I can see why.....
any help and warnings would be appreciated, I know it's gotta be CLEAN, and am reading directions....and reveiwing my work pretty good,
