i have a 73 with a can-am kit on it, it had a house of kolor candy blue paint job 20 years ago and is beginning to show its age pretty bad ..so basically just wanted suggestions of reputeable auto paint shops in CT area that can sand down this crappy paint and repaint my car nothing fancy...money is the biggest factor here cheaper the better for me..i live near Farmington, CT
Zoels Auto Body in Meriden does a pretty good job. We have had numerous fender-benders fixed there. Excellent work, and you could probably eat off their shop floor.

Strip it yourself
If cash is a problem, strip the car yourself. Not a real pleasure, but, it will save you a ton of money and get a decent paint job. I used Zip Strip, 00 steel wool, lacquer thinner and plastic scrapers. Took me about 80 hours. Remember to keep it inside under cover when you get it stripped to protect the gel-coat.
Bodyworks in East Longmeadow, MA (right over the line from Enfield) does awesome work. They've done many custom paint jobs. Not the cheapest though, Ive had work done by them before and they are very reasonable for the quality of the work, plus they've worked with me on the pricing before.
