Check engine light ?

Ok,this started happening last winter and now that the weather has started to cool off it's started again.We have had a couple of mid 40's out during the night.When it gets cool like this my check engine light will come on after the engine is up to operating temps and it will stay on for 2-3 minutes and go off.By that time I'm home from work so I don't know if it would continue the same thing.It doesn't do anything to the preformance of the car.By the way this is an 82 all stock except for dual exhaust

Hmm, computer is not happy about something. You need to check what code it is showing

It is one of those things that will only show up when the light is on?The codes I mean.

Test scan is the only way to tell. I did have more than my share of map sensors act up in the spring and fall with damp cool weather.

I would check the EGR sensor.

Got a EGR readout to the computor on my wifes 96 park ave. System 11 computor. When the light goes on it does not go off until you clear
codes with the scanner. Unless you want to disconnect the battery and lose all your radio settings. I don't think our vette EGR are electronic
as far a position information to the computor.
