Thanks for the complement. My vette has been a dream to drive, having overdrive is awesome! The other day I was going 110 MPH and only turning 3100 RPM. It must be great living in Austria?
Yeah, high spped driving is the reason why I decided to stay with 3.08 rear end ratio. 250 km/h should be possible if the engine provides enough power and airodynamics are ok. I´ll test this at the race track for sure :blueangel:
Perhaps I´ll someday change my tranny to a 4 or five speed automatic...
But for the moment I´m glad with my TH350 which is packed with many goodies rebuilt by a german race shop. We´ll see
BTW, I decided to go with 16" wheels.
I know you´re running 255/50/16.
Would you be so kind and tell me the backspacing of your TTII?
How does the tire line up with the fender edge? (if you´re standing before or behind the car)
And what tirebrand did you choose?
Thanks Markus
hey man sorry it took so long to reply havent been around the computer, but im having all kinda problems with the wiring on my car as of right know i was trying to get some juice to the starter and once it was wired up it sounded like it was dragging a few times and then it started clicking so i thought well maybe it just died wrong the new one straight outa the box does the same thing so I tried my old starter off of my 80 model motor and it works fine except for the flywheel on the LT-1 is smaller than the other engine but that just tells me nothing on why my brand new LT-1 starter doesnt work >>>>> have any clues ???? check all the wires there grounded good have good amperage so im clueless :flag
redc3vette1-It sounds like your not getting enough juice to your solenoid. I would verify that you wired up the solenoid correctly. The solenoid contact (s) should be connected the start voltage with 6 gauge wire and contact (B) connected directly to your +(Batt) with 19 gauge wire. I believe the LT1 starter delivers more torque than the '80 style starter, thus needs larger solenoid wires. The solenoid wires from the starter on your '80 is smaller than the LT1 wire. I used the original LT1 starter harness. The starter cables are plenty adequate. The clicking sound is usually means you’re not getting enough amps. Weak Batt, damage solenoid wire or poor connection. I hope this helps. Keep me informed of your LT1 conversion.
Markus-I think the back spacing on the my '76 is 4.5". I can give you the exact part number for the TT2 I bought. I'll get back to you with the part number. I called American Racing for the correct wheel. They can give you the exact back spacing. My tires don't stick out passed the wheel wells. You will love the way your Shark handles. I purchased my TT2 from Discount Tires for $195.00 ea. I'll get back to you with the part number.
