Default charging system

ok, here is the thing, i have an 81 automatic vette, i bought a new battery, and is not getting charged, i replace the alternator but this didn't solve the problem. what other things sould i look?

Make sure the smaller wire of the two from the harness has 12V switched. There should be a large wire, 12V constant, and a small wire 12V switched with the ignition. A break or short with that switched wire would cause an alt to not charge.

The fusable link. A multimeter would have saved you a new battery and alternator.

Yep, Voltmeter is your friend.
There should be a large red wire on the back of the alternator that goes thru the frame to the battery compartment, it provides charging current to the battery. Ring it out and make sure its intact

If that is a fuseable link gone bad, they can be tough to track down. A newer wire with an actual fuse, or a small breaker would be a good replacement idea.

i checked all the conections today and it was the battery red cable of the generator, it was broken, i replace it, and now is working just fine. thanks everybody.

Check the starter wire. They can go in pairs and I would hate to see you stuck on the side of the road some day as a result.
