I bought a remote solenoid for my '78, from Summit Racing. I would like to install it this weekend.
Two questions.
First, where in the engine compartment is the best place to install it?
Second, none of the posts (4 ea. Two big on either side and two small, in front) are labeled. Is it symetrical? I look at the drawing and I can understand the schematic but which is left side and which is right side.
I don't know if it matters. Just run the starter cable both big and small through the solenoid. The small wire that energizes the stock starter is on one side of the remote solenoid and the other side goes to ground. As for the large battery wires I don't think side matters. Be sure to short out the stock starter with a heavy wire or a copper bar. Just make sure it is heavy and good connections. I works nicely.
