Default headlight help

i need help with my headlights. they were lazy going up and down so i got the troubleshooting info from corvette 101 and started to trouble shoot them. i found a few problems and i have parts ordered. my question is how do i get the headlights to close, like i mentioned they were lazy to begin with and it may take 10 minutes or so for them to close before i started, i let the car idle for 10 minutes waiting for them to close but no luck, anybody have any ideas???????? it's a 74 vette.
thanks guys

Kick the headlights behind their knees and they will go down.

Actually reach up under the car and push/pull on the pin with the springs on it and the headlights should start down. You may have to give them a little help on the way down. You just have to be very carefull not to get your fingers caught in between the mechanisms. Leave the car turned off to do this and do not force the headlights down too hard or you may tear the diaphragms in the headlight actuators.

Let us know if this helps.

You can close them manually by reaching up through the radiator intake just forward of the spoiler and close them without the engine running. Grab the linkage at the elbow to unlock it and the headlight bucket will close on it's own.
