Wiper door stuck open.
Everything worked fine on my 68 until all of a sudden the wiper door opened up once the engine is running and the wiper override light is on.
Pulling or pushing the override vacuum valve under the steering column does not help. Once the engine is cut off, the door slam closes.
Where do I start trouble shooting ?

So my problem is related to this switch , the center electric switch under the column, isn't it ?
The wipers are parked , the door opens with car running and the override light comes on.
Will have to check the wiring diagram to see how this switch connects to.

The wiper door oeverride light is actaully all the time on , regardless with or without ignition switch on or off.
My 1968 wiring diagramm from Lectric limited does not show this light, probably because early 68 didn't have it.
Can somebody scan this wiring in for me, may be from a 69 wiring or so ?
Because of this, the wipers do not work at all.

Took me a couple of hours of reading the wiring diagram, measureing power and grds and all of a sudden , I understood what happened.
The wipers where not 100% in parked position. I helped the motor by prying the wiper linkages a bit and all works fine.
If the wiper sw is switched to off position and the motor is not in parked position, the wiper override light comes on and the wiper door solenoid stays powered to keep the door open.
It looks like if somebody tryed the wipers and cut off the battery safety sw a bit too early. The motor wasn't at parked, but had no power to make this last bit.
By the way, this happend since I got the car back from the garage who did a underbody washing for me.
Thanks for all good advises. Günther
