Default Rusty wheel sound ?

When driving, I am getting a sound that sounds like a rusty wheel coming from the front end. It gets faster as I accelerate, and slows down as I slow down. The car sat for a while before I bought it. Has anyone had this type of problem? U-Joint?

Have you looked at the rotors or the brakes?? Check the pads to see what condition they are in. Look at the wheel bearings also.

If the car sat for a while you should thoroughly check the brake system. Any leaks or sticking pads should be addressed immediately. If the sound you are hearing is higher pitched and doesn't stop when you step on the brakes I would suspect wheel bearings. Front bearings are not expensive or difficult to replace.

I have seen rotors rust within hours of getting wet or damp. Anytime something sits the potential for rust and corrosion increases. I suggest a thourgh exam of the brakes and wheel bearings. Better safe then sorry.
