New fuel tank is almost in and new exhaust going in tonite and tomorrow. Brakes are probably next...I've been looking around at "brake kits" from the various vendors. Will use as much SS as I can afford. Interested in any "been there, done that" inputs. The brakes are functional, but calipers are pretty rusty as are the rotors, and lines. Thanks, Rob
If you have SS lined calipers that are in good shape inside clean them up and paint them and then do the VBP )-ring kit for about $150 for all 4 corvers. You can get drilled and slotted SS rotors under $300 set
Looks like a nice set up. Paid $6.00 for each side line and $44.00 for the ss hose set (rear only).
For new calipers and rotors, you can try VPB, Muskegon Brake and many others. I have read some threads about people using Autozone, Napa and Murrays Discount Auto calipers with no problems.

OK, I'm new at this Chevy stuff...without taking apart, any way to tell if the calipers are SS lined?? I am pretty sure they are the original calipers from 1972...? Only driven the car a couple of blocks, story is that car hasnt been driven in about 18 yrs. Dont want to replace the calipers if its not needed...
Thanks, Rob
I have the VB&P calipers and hydraboost and am reasonably happy.
If I was to do it again, I would consider the Wildwood kit from Corvette Enginering. He sold several to forum members who seem to be very happy. Not much more money and a big weight loss. I would give it serious consideration. When you get more go, you'll want more stop!

I tried replacing the front pads on my '72, wound up screwing up two of the plungers, could not get the pads to recede together at the same time what a b*tch; if I had it to do over, I would have removed the calipers to change the pads. replaced with AutoZone's, they said what I had were originals.
Try Wilwood Talledegas in front and Blackhawks in rear with BP-10 pads from Corvette Engineering.
Add Hydroboost and decent tires and you will have excellent brakes.
Add drilled and slotted rotors for bling.
Has anyone put together a Hydroboost kit for the C3?? I did a FORUM search and looks like most guys piece it together...Exhaust will be done today, fuel tank is done, next the brakes..
Thanks for all the brake input and recommendations...
