okay this may sound like an odd answer...you're probably referring to a custom paint job.
if you're driving in the night go with a light metallic color like silver. i have a 77 that's silver (it's much much lighter than the corvette silver though). along with american racing chrome wheels and chrome sidepipes, it looks amazing after dark.
